Yes. Cykee is built specifically as an alternative to swipe-based dating apps like Tinder, Hinge, Bumble, Match, Coffee Meets Bagel, and OkCupid. The category-level difference: Cykee removes the photo-first filter. There is no swipe deck. Photos stay blurred through the whole 38-minute date — they only clear if you both say yes after.
From Psyche — the heroine of the ancient Greek myth of Cupid and Psyche. Psyche (Greek for "soul") was a mortal so admired that the goddess Venus sent her son Cupid to ruin her. Instead, Cupid fell in love with her and brought her to a palace where they met only in darkness — she could never see his face. She had to choose him for who he was, not what he looked like. The product is built around that story. Cupido — our AI mentor — is the same Cupid from the myth. And "Cykee" is just a phonetic way to write Psyche. The myth said it three thousand years before we did.
Profile photos on Cykee are blurred by default. While browsing you see a 30-second voice intro and a few soul-card prompts instead of a face. The 38-minute date itself is a private chat — eight-minute warm-up, then a thirty-minute decision window — with photos heavily blurred the whole time (a single soft-veil bump at minute eight). Photos only clear to full if you both say yes after the date. This puts words and values ahead of appearance, which inverts every other dating app and matches the research on what predicts lasting attraction (Eastwick & Finkel on chemistry-before-aesthetics).
Cykee's chat is guided by Conversation Sparks — questions drawn from the 36 Questions methodology (Arthur Aron's research on accelerating closeness between strangers). Sets appear at minute two and minute twenty during the date so the talk skips small talk and gets to something real. Both people see the same spark at the same time and can choose to use it or keep going on their own thread.
Yes. There is no subscription, no premium tier, and no paywall hiding features. The only money that ever moves is when a user voluntarily sends a real, physical gift after a match. Recipients never pay anything. The recipient enters their own delivery address through us — the sender never sees it, and we never see it either. Our gift partner Goody handles delivery directly.
No — that is the rule we built every AI feature around. Cupido assists, he never replaces you. He brings what works — the science, the ice-breakers, the patterns from thousands of conversations. You bring the effort, and you take the win. Cupido never writes messages for you, never pretends to be you in chat, and never trains on your conversations for outside purposes.
Cupido is the custom-built AI dating mentor inside Cykee. Think of him as a trainer who has seen thousands of conversations and lives by the principle above: assist, never replace. He does three things: coach you before a date, run a practice conversation simulating a real upcoming match (using only that match's voluntarily-shared profile), and offer a brief, honest debrief after the date.
Because it actually is. Cupido's coaching is grounded in a fixed list of relationship-science sources — Gottman Institute on contempt and bids for connection, Reis, Clark and Holmes on Perceived Partner Responsiveness, Eastwick and Finkel on attraction, the U.S. Surgeon General's 2023 advisory on loneliness mortality risk (~15 cigarettes/day per Holt-Lunstad 2010). Cupido is locked to that list and never invents a study.

Because swipe-based apps were designed to keep users swiping, not to get them off the app. They use photo-first filtering, which the science says is the worst filter for predicting lasting compatibility.
