About
Who built Cykee
and why it exists.
Cykee is built by Edgar Rincón— a solo developer working out of San Francisco, Zulia, Venezuela. He'll tell you he's not a dating expert. He's the kind of person friends share with and ask things, and at some point he started paying attention to the dating-app world the way a researcher pays attention to a problem.
Here's the thing that stopped him cold. Most of the people teaching dating online are alone themselves. Call them out and the answer is always the same: “I have five hearts on this app, my method works.” That's not a method. That's a scoreboard.
So he tested the apps. Watched real people use them. The diagnosis isn't the one everyone repeats. The people on the apps aren't broken — the setup is. The performance the apps demand kills the thing the apps claim to deliver. The people who actually lie about who they are are maybe one percent. Small enough to filter out.
What's left is normal people who could probably find each other — if the app stopped getting in the way. That's the whole bet behind Cykee. The mechanics — the FAQ covers them in detail — are just there to clear the way: blurred photos through the whole 38-minute private chat (only clearing if you both say yes after), a 30-second voice intro and a few soul-card prompts in place of a swipe deck, conversation guided by the 36 Questions research, no premium tier, no advertising network, and an AI mentor (Cupido) who assists but never replaces you.
