- The Cykee mobile app does NOT use cookies. Cookies are a browser technology; the iOS/Android app uses native storage that we describe in the Privacy Policy.
- The Cykee website (
cykeeapp.com) uses minimal cookies — only what's needed to keep the site working and to understand how visitors find us. - We do NOT use cookies for behavioral advertising or cross-site tracking. We do not sell cookie data to third parties.

1. WHAT THIS POLICY COVERS
This Cookie Policy explains how [LEGAL_ENTITY_NAME] ("Cykee," "we," "us") uses cookies and similar tracking technologies when you visit the Cykee marketing website at cykeeapp.com and any subdomain (collectively, the "Website").
This Policy does not cover:
- The Cykee mobile application — see the Privacy Policy §3 and §4 for the App's native storage practices.
- Third-party websites you reach by clicking external links (e.g., gift fulfillment via Goody, payment processing via Stripe). Those sites have their own cookie policies.
By using the Website, you consent to the use of cookies as described in this Policy. Where consent is required by law (e.g., GDPR, ePrivacy Directive), we obtain it via a cookie banner before setting non-essential cookies.
2. WHAT COOKIES ARE
A cookie is a small text file that a website places on your device to remember you, your preferences, or how you got to the site. Cookies are set either by the site you are visiting ("first-party cookies") or by a third-party domain whose code is embedded in the page ("third-party cookies").
Related technologies covered by this Policy:
- Local storage / Session storage — browser-side key/value stores that work like cookies but live in your browser rather than being sent to the server.
- Pixels / Web beacons — tiny image files used to log that you opened an email or visited a page. We do not currently use email pixels.
- Server-side analytics events — we may log anonymous page views server-side without setting a cookie at all. Disabling cookies does not prevent server-side logs (those logs do not identify you personally).
3. CATEGORIES OF COOKIES WE USE
We categorize cookies by purpose, following the standard used by the International Chamber of Commerce UK Cookie Guide and the EDPB Guidelines 03/2022.
3.1 Strictly Necessary
Required for the Website to function. We do not ask for consent to set these because the Website cannot work without them.

3.3 Analytics
Help us understand how visitors find and use the Website so we can improve it. We ask for consent in the EU/UK before setting these.

We do not use Google Analytics, Meta Pixel, TikTok Pixel, or any other third-party advertising-analytics product on the Website.

We do not use marketing or advertising cookies. If we later run paid acquisition campaigns that require pixel-based attribution, we will obtain consent and update this Policy before deploying any tracker.

We do not embed social media share buttons, Disqus, Intercom, Hotjar, or any other third-party widget that sets cookies.
5. HOW TO CONTROL COOKIES
You have several options to control or block cookies.
5.1 Our cookie banner (EU/UK)
If you visit the Website from the European Economic Area, United Kingdom, or Switzerland, you will see a cookie banner on your first visit. You can choose:
- Accept all — allows Strictly Necessary + Analytics cookies.
- Reject non-essential — only Strictly Necessary cookies are set; Analytics is disabled.
- Manage preferences — granular per-category opt-in.
Your choice is remembered in the cookieConsent cookie for 12 months. You can reopen the preference panel anytime by clicking Cookie Preferences in the Website footer.
5.2 Browser settings
All modern browsers let you block or delete cookies. Instructions:
- Chrome: Settings → Privacy and security → Third-party cookies
- Safari: Settings → Privacy → Manage Website Data
- Firefox: Settings → Privacy & Security → Cookies and Site Data
- Edge: Settings → Cookies and site permissions
Blocking Strictly Necessary cookies may break parts of the Website.
5.3 Global Privacy Control (GPC)
We honor the Global Privacy Control signal. If your browser sends a GPC header, we treat it as an opt-out of Analytics cookies and as a "Do Not Sell or Share" request for the purposes of the California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA) and the Colorado Privacy Act (CPA), even though we do not sell or share personal information for cross-context behavioral advertising.
5.4 Mobile app
Cookie controls do not apply to the Cykee mobile app. The App uses native storage (UserDefaults / SharedPreferences / SecureStore) as described in the Privacy Policy §3.2. You can clear that storage by deleting the App or signing out.
6. COOKIES AND DO-NOT-TRACK
We honor the Global Privacy Control (GPC) header (see §5.3). We do not currently honor browser-level "Do Not Track" (DNT) headers because there is no consistent industry standard for how to interpret them and the EFF/W3C DNT specification was discontinued in 2019. We recommend GPC.
7. CHILDREN
The Website is intended for users 18 and over. We do not knowingly collect cookie data from anyone under 18. If you believe a minor has been tracked through the Website, please contact privacy@cykeeapp.com and we will delete their data within 30 days.
8. INTERNATIONAL TRANSFERS
Some of the third parties listed in §4 process data outside your country of residence. Vercel processes data in the United States and Europe; PostHog processes data in the United States by default with EU residency available. We rely on Standard Contractual Clauses under GDPR Art. 46(2)(c) and the UK International Data Transfer Addendum for transfers from the EU/UK to the US. See the Privacy Policy §10 for the full international-transfers framework.
9. CHANGES TO THIS POLICY
We will update this Policy when our cookie usage changes materially. The "Last Updated" date at the top of this Policy reflects the most recent change. For material changes that affect EU/UK consent (e.g., adding a new Analytics provider), we will re-prompt for consent via the cookie banner.
